If 70 per cent of voters in the district said yes, a district council would be created. Its members would not be paid.

But district councils would have no spending power.

So what's the point? You don't get paid, you don't get the perks and you can't spend any tax dollars.

Can you see the weekly council meetings? They'd have to change their venue to the Trade and Convention Centre.

It's called credible sources and cross checked with a variety of such.  No one here actually believes eveything they read, lots of skeptics here but if those skeptics are skeptical of the things you post, you do this foolishness.  You are the agree with me or you are wrong type.  Make fun of some of my beliefs and you are an idiot etc.  Grow some skin and realize that just because folks don't see things the way you do, they are not sheep.

mmmm wisdom
posting here is not a right but a privilege
cross checked twice i'm sure in a world class manner
people here are not at all skeptical of much aside from Bruce D, the heritage trust group, and peter kelly - other than that world is just tickety boo - and don't be critical of Israel of the USA either they are beyond reproach and would never decieve or mislead intentionally - it's all honest mistakes on their parts

Yeah, Im not critical of anything, go bug someone else now please.  I have been critical of both Isreal and the US and a host of other things, like you and your views for instance.  If your sole purpose is to shit disturb, you are definitely doing a good job.  Is this placebo?  Cause he liked to go after me too.  Probably because I am dumb enough to actually converse rather than ignore like many others do.

No wonder Halifax is in the mess it's in ..but like every city .. too many councillors  .
there must be a better plan !
Perhaps there should be a vote .. Sydney might make a good capitol city .. or is just more of the same ..

Some might say worse, at least as far as councillors go, the mayor seems a little more decisive.  A few of the councillors are never there, too busy working the oil patch in Alberta.

While reading that article, anybody else get the vibe that this is all about Bedford? Bedford, Bedford Bedford!
Bedford this, Bedford that. Apparently Bedford is the only town inconvenienced by amalgamation.

now i'm a believer! i do believe everything i read now!
When it's presented by the government yes, it is much more believable and most importantly credible than when it's reported on by some nobody's conspiracy blog.

Some of these councillors must be washing there hands in Bedford Basin ..
I hate it when one place or person for that matter gets "all" the attention ?
Time to bring the hammer down ..

Eventually it's going to be like the bloody councils in the UK. It would be best to minimize the size of the councilcocrat class (leech) in NS if possible.

In terms of Sydney's mayor, some might describe him as "nuts" instead of decisive.

I'm not "buying" there crap .. 25 [30] councillors a city are plenty .. with all the teck .. around  ! .. our systems are bring robbed ..and our health ..
Wemon are medicated to death  [men].. Criminal tobacco sales .. black market .. election bribes ..More liquor stores than grocery stores ..I guess that about covers it ..Election day millions $ throw away .. It's insanity ...
